Huntersville, NC (Future150) -- Myles McGregor is a junior at 2A Davidson Day High School in North Carolina, and although his school is not known for producing Division I talent, his play has helped put their name in the spotlight.

Myles is one of our favorite mid-major caliber players in the 2016 class, and he is flying under the radar while only a few schools are recruiting him as of now. Myles holds offers from just two schools w Radford and North Carolina A&T, and schools such as San Diego State, UNC-Asheville, UNC-Charlotte, UNC-Greensboro, and Elon are showing interest.

Myles led his Davidson Day squad into a matchup with preseason No. 1 Wesleyan Christian Academy a few weeks ago, and nearly pulled off the upset. Myles would finish that game with 20 points, five rebounds, and four assists. That was just one of many impressive performances so far this season for McGregor as he is averaging 18 points, five rebounds and six assists per game and has his team ranked in the top five in the North Carolina 2A rankings.

“I want to win a state championship not only this season, but next season too.” McGregor told Future150. “My personal goals for myself (include) receiving Big East, ACC, and SoCon offers and be able to compete at a high Division-I level.”

Myles has plenty of strengths on the court and very few glaring weaknesses. When you watch him in action, right off the bat you notice his quick first step and his overall speed. Another huge strength that is noticed with Myles is his ability to stay in front of his man on defense and almost never gets beat off the dribble. He is also very effective on the offensive end, shooting above 40 percent from three this season as well as around the 50-percent range for total FG%. Some things Myles will need to work on once he heads to the next level is strength, rebounding, understanding when to attack on offense and when to make a play for someone else which is something all shooting guards should try to figure out once they get to the Division-I level in college.

Just like all of Myles’s peers and coaches at Davidson Day, he is very fully capable of being a high-major player once he graduates next year. For now Myles will continue to play extremely well and fly under the radar, but you can fully expect him to have more than two offers come time for him to make his decision on what school he will be bringing his talents to sometime in the future.
