Davidson, NC (Future150) -- 2016 SG Myles McGregor of Davidson Day (NC) has been nothing but productive since he transferred at the beginning of last season. Take for example that he is on the verge of becoming a 1,000 point scorer for the Patriots in only two seasons, or that he picked up multiple D1 offers and is now signed to Presbyterian.

Now that the recruitment process is over and he's in his senior season, he's just enjoying his final moments of his high school career and is feeling relaxed.

"It's a blessing to be in the position I'm in where I don't have to worry about my recruitment anymore," McGregor said. "I am really looking forward to becoming a one thousand point player in two years. Something that would be a great accomplishment for me and my school."

Now as serene as any player may be after getting the recruitment process out of the way, everyone knows how nearly impossible it is for any big time high school athlete to feel completely relaxed. The players still have to worry about final exams, and getting the job done in the classroom. As well as finishing off their high school careers the right way, and not letting their teammates down by looking ahead to the next level.

"Although the weight of the recruitment process is off my shoulders, I'm still carrying that weight of helping carry my Davidson Day team," McGregor told me. "But that weight is nothing that I won't be able to handle."

Myles knows he has to finish his last season strong for his teammates before looking ahead to playing for Coach Nibert at Presbterian.

McGregor also finds peace in knowing that Presybyterian is the school for him, and loves every aspect of him playing his college basketball in Clinton, South Carolina.

"Presbyterian is a very small school that I believe will keep me grounded, and not be able to get (easily) distracted. I feel comfortable going there because of how long Coach Nibert has been around, and I don't have to worry about him leaving and (taking another coaching job)."

McGregor is also the type of player who believes in constantly improving. He knows just because he's a future college basektball player, doesn't mean that there's isn't anymore room for improvement over the next couple of years.

"The coaching staff at Presbyterian is great and has been involved with many D1 programs. I believe with their knowledge, and my hard work, I will truly become the best player I can be."

This is what basketball is all about, which is never settling for how good you may be in the present, but working hard to be as good as you possibly can be in the future. McGregor epitomizes this and knows that the work doesn't start when he gets on campus next year. He knows the work needs to start right now, and during the summer.

"This summer I need to focus on gaining some weight," said McGregor. "With my 6'3 frame, I need to be at least 190 by the start of my freshman season."

"I also think, I have made the transition into more of a scoring point guard, but I want to be recognized for more than just scoring. So that is also something I will work to improve on this summer."

McGregor has the chance to be one of the top freshman scorers in the nation next season at Presbyterian. If his work ethic continues on, the rest of the Big South is going to have a huge problem on their hands for the next few years.
