Flint, MI (Future150) -- Fred Hoiberg has done it again. Just a couple of short weeks after landing Matt Thomas, "The Mayor" has landed the other half of his future back court in Monte Morris. The Michigan native was celebrating his birthday today and made the decision to announce his college choice.
Morris has a reputation as a scoring point guard but can run an offense as well. He should thrive next to a player like Thomas, where he can drive and kick to him, or have more space to operate in the lane thanks to Thomas' shooting.
Overall Morris is #115 in the Future150 rankings, and the third best player in MI behind James Young and Michigan commit Derrick Walton. He was also looking at Illinois, Arizona State, and Butler.
In the end it was Iowa State that won out for the talented guards services. The Cyclones look to have some serious talented stockpiled for the future after making last year's tournament widely due to transfers. Morris will fit well in Hoiberg's system and has the opportunity to be a star there. Regardless he will be a major part of the program moving forward.
