Jackson, MS (Future150) -- After covering the 2013 Global Elite Exposure Camp last weekend in Jackson, Mississippi, we were able to catch up with some of MBA Hoops hottest high school talent in the state.
One of those prospects is Northwest Rankin High School sophomore Marcus Watson. While the 6'0", 160-pound lead guard is ranked #82 nationally in the 2015 class by Future150, we are the only scouting service giving him his due.
"I'm pretty sure nobody can guard me one-on-one," he told Future150.
"I want to go up against Marcus LoVett this summer, and any other guards in my class that are getting more love than me. I'm on a mission to prove that I'm one of the best guards in my class," he stated.
This AAU season, he will be getting his wish, testing his mettle while playing for MBA Hoops 17U team.
The explosive point guard is a pass first point guard who is nearly impossible to stay in front of. This past season, he averaged 11 points and nine assists per game.
He models his game after Miami point guard Shane Larkin because of his style of play.
"Syracuse and Kentucky are my dream schools, because they play uptempo, and I can see myself in their systems."
While those schools haven't shown interest just yet, UNLV and DePaul are monitoring the point guard's progress currently.
Future150 will also be monitoring his progress, as we expect him to become a household name by summers end.
