Harrington Park, NJ (Future150) -- 2017 G/F Justin Minaya of Northern Valley (NJ) may start to become one of the most sought after prospects in his area if the schools he has been hearing from recently decides to put an offer on the table.
The Future150 Alum already has offers from American, Boston, Binghamton, and Sacred Heart. Here recently though, Minaya has seen some high majors start to get in his ear a little bit.
"Recruitment has been going pretty good," Minaya said. "I've been hearing from schools like Indiana, Miami (FL), San Diego State, St. John's, and Virginia among others."
Those type of programs don't come in contact with a player unless they really see something they like. Minaya is a very versatile player standing around 6'6, and being able to play the one through three with ease along with a sweet shooting stroke can get you some high major offers in a heartbeat.
"When coaches are talking to me they tell me that they like how versatile of a player I am," Minaya said. "They like that I can do many things when I'm on the court, and they also enjoy seeing my length and athleticism put to use."
Running on the Under Armor circuit this summer with the Juice All-Stars, Minaya will continue to have plenty of oppurtunities to showcase his game to coaches. Expect his offer list to have more than four schools by the time this summer comes to an end.
Minaya already knows he will be playing at the division one level somewhere in a few years, and has one main thing he is focusing to improve on for when that time comes.
"I definitely need to work on getting quicker, so I am able to guard other point guards at the division one level."
It will be very interesting to see how Minaya's recruitment shapes up within the next six months or so. Stay locked in with Future150 as we continue to track his progress.
