High Point, NC (Future150) -- As High Point Christian Academy is preparing for the upcoming basketball season, the hype is starting to build steadily. With the additions of two elite 2016 players in Ty Graves (#104/#29) & Edrice Adebayo (#9/#3) on top of returning talents like Amidou Bamba (Brown, Dartmouth, Loyola MD offers), Ben Robertson (Bucknell, Campbell, Furman, Miami OH offers) and '17 CP3 G Reece Bogan.
There is one guy who seems to be continually overlooked on this squad that could be an essential piece to their success this season. Enter Michal Seals. Class of 2016 PG Seals played for Team Winston on the AAU circuit and is also a Future150 Camp alumni.
He stands just around 5-foot-11, but has tons to offer with his leadership, defensive abilities, and his speediness on the offensive end that helps create plays by breaking down the defense.
"What I bring to the table is being a great distributor, chipping in points, defending, and really just being a good teammate."
His toughness and willingness to work is such a beautiful thing to see. Seals will never back down from a challenge and always has complete confidence that he can get the job done, whatever that job may be.
Michal is highly confident that his squad has what it takes to go all the way.
"Everyone on this team wants to win, we're very tough and don't believe in the word soft." Seals said. "I love how everyone really gets after it, and how we all have the same goal and level of hunger to do something special."
For now Seals will focus on helping to lead his team and the limitless potential that they possess. At the same time he wants to use this season to finally prove to coaches that he has what it takes to help a team at the division one level.
"I want to show and prove to everyone that I am capable of playing on the division one level in college."
Seals is an ideal four-year lead guard, that any college coach will be lucky to have. He may not draw all the oohs and ahs when he's on the floor, but his hustle and defense will help win plenty of games.
Seals has yet to collect a division one offer, and North Carolina Central is the only one showing interest right now.
It has been tough for him during the recruiting process, but not at any point has he decided to give up.
With alot of the national attention being focused on HPCA this coming season, this will be the perfect time for Seals to be able to showcase his talents to more observers and coaches than ever.
If you love a good late bloomer story, stay locked in with Future150 as we will continue to track him throughout his senior year.
