Augusta, GA (Future150) -- Heading into the July live periods, freshman guard Tyrese Maxey was a known commodity in Texas, but had yet to arrive on the national stage.
The South Garland combo guard is one half of one of the best young back courts in the southwest, as fellow 2019 guard Chris Harris is his running mate. Maxey missed out on a majority of the season with an injury though, but as bounced back in a big way.
Playing for D1 Premier, Maxey has helped guide his loaded team to both the Peach Invitational and GASO 16U titles in the past two weeks. The 6-foot-3 guard has played more of a point guard role with this roster, and looks as though that will be his position moving forward.
It's easy to see why Baylor, Stanford and Texas A&M have all offered him. His size will make him a big point guard, and he is very athletic. With good speed and great vision, Maxey is able to create a number of scoring opportunities.
With AAU Super Showcase starting tomorrow night, Maxey will be one of the premier draws of the week. Look for the Dallas native to pick up a number of new offers as the month closes out.
