Blairstown, NJ (Future150) -- Anthony Mack (2017) of Blair Academy in New Jersey has seven offers on his list right now.
"I like all the coaches who have offered me very much, but some of them have already told me they know (my stock) is going to go much higher," said Mack.
Current offers consist of Albany, Dartmouth, Drexel, Iona, Stony Brook, Yale, & his most recent offer, Vermont.
Even though all these schools are low/mid-majors, collecting seven D-1 offers before heading into your junior year is an accomplishment within itself. Mack and many of his peers know he is only scratching the surface right now.
Mack is still growing as he recently measured in at 6-foot-6 at a workout. He does not necessarily need to grow to max out his potential, but it certainly won't hurt when being evaluated by college coaches.
"I believe I am one of the top 25 players in the country," said Mack. "I have unlimited range, and can guard four positions. As the Vermont coaches would tell you, I am physically (6'6, 220 lbs) and athletically gifted enough to be playing at the college level right now even though I just turned 17 this Spring."
He is confident the high major offers are about to come rolling in soon. There are some already showing interest that he wants to gather offers from soon.
He is hoping to get offers from Davidson, Michigan, Nova, and Virginia.
"(Ultimately) I am waiting for the high major offers to come," said Mack. "At that point I'll make my (college) choice with my family. A winning program will play a big part of it all, because I want to play in the NCAA Tournament all four years."
Once Mack collects some of the high majors offers he wants, expect his recruitment to close soon after.
"Once (my stock rises) and the offers come my way, I want to make a quick decision so I can move forward in developing with the school I choose in any way I can. I have respect for a lot of the programs in the country but I also know how hard I have worked and will continue to work. I feel that I can compete against anyone, though I say that being humble."
