Future150.com recently caught up with 2018 prospect Willie B. Hill III, an athletic combo guard who’s been playing at a very high level. Currently ranked as the #30 overall prospect in his class, Hill is now up to 6’4” and 160 lbs.

Since March 30th, Hill and the Kentucky Gators have gone 39-1 and the star guard has been averaging 15 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals per game. Hill has led his team to six tournament championships, including the State of Kentucky 9th Grade AAU Tournament where he sealed the victory with a last-second lay-up.

Hill excels in the mid-range and when driving to the basket. He’s already developed a nice floater and elevates well on his jumpers. An athletic prospect, Hill has been attacking the rim recently and has found an affinity for big-time slams. He’s also active on the offensive glass, which for a guard, is always a bonus.

“I try to model my game after Kyrie Irving and LeBron James. They get to the rim and finish strong,” said Hill. “Kyrie is my favorite NBA player.”

Hill is looking forward to Nationals in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he plans to continue his success and improve as a player.
“The strongest part of my game is my handling and ability to break down the press and get to the basket easily,” Hill told Future150.com. When asked what part of his game he really wanted to improve, Hill acknowledged that he needs to work on his shot from beyond the arc. The good news is he will have plenty of time to develop that shot before his recruitment really picks up.

As of now, Stetson University, Wright State, and Austin Peay University have shown interest in Hill. That list is certain to get longer as Hill begins high school and continues to develop his game.

“Syracuse is my favorite college team. I liked watching Tyler Ennis and CJ Fair last year,” Hill said. He’s also interested in hearing from Kentucky, Kansas and Louisville.

“I want to thank my parents and coaches,” Hill added.

Hill is projected to a high-major prospect, so you can expect to hear his name quite a bit in the future.
