Ann Arbor, MI (Future150) -- Michigan has one of the deeper classes in 2016 that should make a good impact the next few years. Coach Beilein pulled in the majority of this class from their rival's state of Ohio. Check out below to see what the Wolverines have coming in.
Xavier Simpson, #68 in top-150, Lima, OH: Simpson is easily the best and most highly regarded player in this class. At just 5'11, he can impact the game in so many ways. What will help him translate to the next level is his leadership abilties as the lead guard. Simpson also has very good ball-handling skills and can get hot in a hurry from anywhere on the floor. His court vision and overall feel for the game will also be a big help to the Wolverines.
Jon Teske, 3-star prospect, Medina, OH: Teske is a fundamental big man in the paint with decent footwork and post moves. He is a very long 6'11 and will give anyone trouble who decides to drive into the paint for a floater or layup. Teske will probably need to put on about ten to fifteen pounds before he will be able to go head to head with most of the big men in the Big 10. Nonetheless he should be a very productive center for three to four years in Ann Arbor.
Austin Davis, 3-star prospect, Onsted, MI: Like his future teammate Teske, Austin Davis has very good size for a big man at 6'10 and he also has a bigger frame at 240 pounds. His rebounding skills are fantastic along with his help side defense. He has a very soft touch around the basket and is good at drawing contact to get the other team into foul trouble. Expect Davis and Teske to be blocking shots and slamming down alley-oops and dunks for the next few years to come.
Ibi Watson, 3-star prospect, Pickerington Central, OH: Watson may have the most pro potential in this class even though he is the lowest rated prospect out of this group by most outlets. Watson is a 6'6 shooting guard that is very talented and has the ability to score from all three levels. His athleticism is also a big plus as he can finish above the rim if he gets a clear path to the basket. Watson will need to continue to get stronger and learn how to play aggresive for the full forty minutes if he wants to max out his potential. He should be another fine wing player that develops under Coach Beilein.
