Huntsville, AL (Future150) -- Lewis Sullivan has always focused on being close to home, and he took another step towards doing so on Tuesday.
Sullivan, a 6-foot-7 small forward, gave his verbal commitment to UAB Monday afternoon, ending his recruitment.
"They have a good style of play at UAB. I fit in the style and the coaches see me playing anywhere from the 1-4," he told Future150.com.
"They have good academics and the school is a nice school, too," he added. "But it's close to home, and that means a lot to me."
Sullivan, last year's Alabama 6A Player of the Year, joins fellow in-state guard Jarvis Calhoun as the Blazers' two commitments to 2014.
However, many of the kids in the state have been talking about a potential "Fab Five" scenario, where five kids could make their way to Birmingham in 2014.
Riley Norris, Justin Coleman, William Lee, Isaac Haas, and Demetrius Houston are among those being discussed.
"Oh yeah, I'm definitely going to be recruiting. I think we can get William Lee and Demetrius Houston."
Sullivan was also considering Mississippi State, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Florida, among others.
He is a three-star according to Future150.com.
