Picayune, MS (Future150) -- Mississippi is a state that has had a serious amount of prep basketball talent over the past several years, and there is no sign of that trend stopping any time soon.
Levi Strong is a 6’8” junior who plays basketball at Hancock high School in Mississippi. Although he was not thrilled with his high school season, he was excited when talking about the upcoming AAU circuit.
Levi will be playing for MBA Hoops Elite this year, and made it clear that he is excited to join the squad. He said that he is “pumped” for nationals and wants to have a winning record on the AAU summer circuit. He is excited about playing for his new AAU team and says that it is a bigger program that will gain him more exposure on a national level.
His biggest role model is his father, and for good reason. “He is a perfect example of hard work. He showed me that if you want something bad enough, you can have it,” stated Levi.
He is following that motto and is currently focusing on improving his explosion and jumping ability.
When talking about college interest, Levi told me that there were three schools he has been in contact with. Mississippi State was his favorite of the three, followed by Southern Mississippi and Davidson.
Look for him to stand out this summer playing with one of the most successful AAU programs in the entire southeast.
