Memphis, TN (Future150) -- Prior to committing to Baylor a few months ago, Memphis-White Station (Tenn.) forward Leron Black was having an active recruitment.

With that being said, it comes as no surprise to see dozens of top-tier schools already in hot pursuit since his de-commitment from Scott Drew and the Bears on Wednesday.

"Kentucky, Ohio State, Memphis, Tennessee, Florida, UConn, Louisville, Missouri, and NC State have contacted us Thursday," Norton Hurd, Black's Team Thad AAU coach, told Future150.com.

By now, several other schools have probably entered the mix for the No. 1 player in the 2014 Future150 rankings.

Expect the 6-foot-7 star to be one of the most coveted players in his class, as well as producing one of the most intense recruitments - and this time, expect Black to take his time with the decision.

While it is very early to point fingers as to who could actually land the junior this time around, some things are worth being noted.

During his tenure at Memphis (and even since his move to Kentucky), John Calipari has drawn the interest of Black.

Black took an unofficial to Lexington last summer following the John Lucas camp in Louisville; it is also worth being noted the Wildcats were the only school not to offer him a scholarship before his commitment. With time, that could change.

Since the re-classification of Andrew Wiggins, the UK staff has been evaluating wing prospects in the Class of 2014, and obviously, Black will be in the mix.

On the other hand, many doubt Black will stay home and play for Josh Pastner's squad, nor re-commit to Baylor.

As far as Memphis is concerned, take a look at the recruitment of Austin Nichols. The Tigers were thought to be a long-shot behind Tennessee and Duke for the big man, but he has solidified the 2013 class.

Very rarely do recruits choose the school they de-commit from, but Hurd is adament that the Bears are still contenders.

Time will tell with who is in hot pursuit of Black. Stay up-to-date with Future150.com.
