Ponchatoula, LA (Future150) -- Last year he was the Co-MVP at Future150's prestigious Elite24 Camp as a rising freshman. This yea,r he came to Future150's The Summit Camp (elite camp for rising soph's and junior's only) and came out as an all-star.
It's easy to see why 2020 CG La'Vell Scott (LA) already has a division one offer on his list, and after seeing him this summer, it seems like he's just scratching the surface of how good he really can be.
"I already know that I can score the ball on all three levels," Scott said. "I'm really working on my defense and being a better leader on and off the court."
Wise words from the rising sophomore, as he knows scoring the ball isn't everything. But right now that is one thing Scott can do extremely well. Off the dribble, off the catch, slashing the lane and finishing through contact, it really doesn't matter. His scoring abilities are highly advanced for his age, and there's no question he's one of the best 2020's in the Southeast at this point.
With his first DI offer coming from Southern University out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Scott has also seen LSU, South Carolina, and Tulane show interest in him recently among others.
"They said the way I can score the ball and get my teammates involved is amazing for a prospect my age," Scott said when asked why Southern U's staff thinks he can play at the next level. "They also told me the passion that I play with is something that you just can't teach."
As Scott heads into his second year of high school at Oak Forest Academy (LA), things could really start heating up for him soon in the recruitment realm as he continues to work on his game and focus on improving his defensive abilities.
Stay locked in with Future150 as we continue to track Scott's progress along with the rest of the standout's from our camp series this summer and fall!
