Louisville, KY (Future150) -- Travelers AAU has a special scorer in Braxton Beverly (#128). When he touches the ball points seem to pile up. But the reason Beverly gets so many possessions tends to be Matt Wilson.
A no-nonsense power forward, Wilson straps on the hard hat every game. His rebound totals usually exceed his points, but Wilson makes a difference. Rebounds do not escape his hands. He keeps guys off the glass with ease.
Though he currently weighs 235, Wilson could probably thrive at 250 with the right weight regimen. He has good feet and would be the perfect player at the mid-major level.
Miami (Oh) and Lipscomb have offered Wilson. He is drawing significant interest from Yale, Northern Kentucky, and Eastern Kentucky. EKU watched him Saturday evening, while Yale popped down to Louisville for an evaluation Wednesday night.
Other Ivy League schools like Cornell and Columbia are in contact. Wilson's physicality and poise make him an ideal college pivot. He does not need the ball to make an impact, which allows others to rack up monster points.
Beverly's success is mostly his own, but he could throw Wilson a few pats on the back after this July.
