Knoxville, TN (Future150) -- Future150 finished up the weekend at the KnoxVegas Heat Invitational at the championship game for the 17Under division.  The game featured the Southern Stampede vs. Team United.  There were some of the top players in the country in the game such as Kennedy Meeks, Sindarius Thornwell and Tahj Shamsid-Deen.  The game was tight for the most part with the up-tempo style of play finally taking its toll on Team United.  Southern Stampede went on a 7-0 run to pull away in the last two minutes to win the championship 74-65.  Here are some of the top performers in the tournament on Day 3.

2013 Class

Rashawn Powell- Pos: PG | Ht: 6’1” | Wt: 170 lbs.
(Orlando, FL) High School: Dr. Phillips | AAU: Florida Assault

Powell is an elite scorer with a great first step.  He can get anywhere on the court off the dribble he wants.  He has unlimited range go along with a deadly mid range game.  He is a tenacious defender and is extremely crafty around the rim.  Look for him to make into the ranking during the next update after the live period.  He has offers from Seton Hall, Miami, Virginia Tech, Miss St, UCF, Murray State and North Florida. Powell is hearing from Cincinnati, Maryland and Memphis as of late.

T.J. Williams- Pos: PF | Ht: 6’8” | Wt: 225 lbs.
(Wilmington, NC) High School: Ashley | AAU: Team United

T.J. played a very solid all weekend for Team United.  He plays hard on both ends of the floor and is not afraid to use his 225 pound body to bang down low.  T.J. has a nice list of schools after him which includes Vanderbilt, Memphis, Clemson, and Wake Forest to name a few.

Tahj Shamsid-Deen- Pos: PG | Ht: 5’8” | Wt: 155 lbs.
(Decatur, GA) High School: Columbia | AAU: Southern Stampede

Tahj proved the hype to behind his name to be true.  He is a coach on the floor  that can  run a team and the ability to score when necessary.  He has a mean mid-range shot that extends out to the three point line with ease.  Shamsid-Deen plays very good defense and is a blur in transition.   Look for him to have a  big summer in the EYBL for his Southern Stampede team. UCLA has offered.

LaBrian Shiflet- Pos: SG | Ht:6’4” | Wt: 180 lbs.
(Greer, SC) High School: Greer | AAU: SC Raptors Elite

Shiflet is a high energy player that plays with a chip on his shoulder and loves to compete.  He shot the ball well all weekend long knocking down a ton of threes.  He has a great first step and loves putting pressure on the defense in transition.  He has the quickness and athleticism to play the 1-3 positions on the floor.  He’s hearing from South Carolina, Western Kentucky, Charleston, College of Charleston, App St. and Furman.

Charlendez Brooks- Pos: PF | Ht:6’9” | Wt: 215 lbs.
(Duncan, SC) High School: Burns | AAU: SC Raptors Elite

Brooks is a great rebounder and a presence on the floor from the power forward position.  He can score around the rim and plays solid defense.  He can block shots and showed a nice mid range jumper from 12-feet.  He currently holds offers from Presbyterian, Upstate and East Carolina.  He’s hearing from Furman, Clemson, Jacksonville, Mercer and Citadel among others.

Juwan Evans- Pos: PG | Ht: 6’0” | Wt: 155 lbs. |
(Greenville, SC) High School: Southside | AAU: SC Raptor Elite

Evans likes to attack the basket in transition.  He showed good court vision and the ability to make everyone better on his team.  He has received interest from Clemson and plans on attending their elite camp this summer.

Class 2014

Nate Mason- Pos: PG | Ht: 5’10” | Wt: 155 lbs.
(Atlanta, GA) High School: Columbia| AAU: Southern Stampede

Mason is a super electric guard who can score in bunches.  His specialty was the 3-point shoot where he made 3 straight shots in the semi-final game.   He likes to put a tremendous amount of pressure on the defense in transition after his opponent has missed a shot.

Class 2017

Kendrick Summerour- Pos: PG | Ht: 5’8” | Wt: 145 lbs.
(Marietta, GA) High School: Kell | AAU: CP3 All-Stars

Summerour is extremely quick and has elite ball handling skills.  He loves to attack the rim in transition and can rebound well from the guard position.  He is the consummate floor general and has all the qualities of a DI prospect.

James Lewis- Pos: SG | Ht: 5’8” | Wt: 140 lbs
(Atlanta, GA) Middle School: Flat Rock | AAU:  ATL Rockafellas

Lewis is a tremendous shooter who likes to attack the rim.  He was undeniably the team leader and the son of the team coach.  He has a good understanding of the game and plays it the right way.  He led his team to the 13U championship.

Victor Enoh: Pos: C | Ht: 6’7” | Wt: 195 lbs.
(Decatur, GA) High School: Green Forest Academy | AAU: ATL Rockafellas

Enoh is super long and has a great body to be only 13 years old.  He is like a man among boys out there.  He blocked just about every shot in the lane area and is an excellent rebounder on both ends of the floor.  If he develops on the pace he is currently going, Enoh is a high major prospect.

Wendell Carter Jr.- Pos: PF | Ht: 6’5” | Wt: 185 lbs.
(Atlanta, GA) High School: Fulton Leadership Academy | AAU: ATL Rockafellas

Carter was probably the most consistent player we saw all weekend long in the 13U age division.  He lives on the offensive glass and scoring on put backs.  He has a nice baseline move and can finish with contact at the rim.  A developing jump shot is going to put this prospect on an elite level.
