Knoxville, TN (Future150) -- After a huge release of the "New" Future150, the scouting process continued on day 2 at the KnoxVegas Heat Invitational. After game one for all the teams, the intensity picked up tremendously in game two. Let's take a look at today's top performers in Saturday's games.
Ayinde Sprewell- The nephew of Latrell Sprewell carries the name very well. He attacks the basket with a purpose and plays just as hard on defense. Ayinde said he will be working on his jump shot to complete his already well-rounded game. Schools interested in Sprewell are James Madison, Jacksonville, Morehead State, Virginia Tech, George Mason, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida Gulf Coast. Fallou Ndoye- is a 6-foot-11 inch big man did a good job altering and blocking shots for the Florida Assault 17U team. He is receiving interest from Miami, Murray State, Nebraska, Florida Atlantic, UCF, Memphis, and has an offer from UNLV. Shane Hall- the 2013 PF has offers from Northern Kentucky, Western Kentucky, Indiana, UAB and Purdue has offered. He also has interest from University of Kentucky and University of Cincinnati.
Terrence Phillips is the brother of NBA point guard Brandon Jennings is making a name for himself. This 2015 point guard controls the game with poise and never seems to get rattled. He is a solid defender and showed the ability to knock down the three point shot off the dribble. Faisel Abdulamlik- the 6-foot-7 inch 210 pound PF is a man amongst boys. He knows how to get good low post position and finishes well around the basketball. He loves using his length when guarding the post. You can definitely tell he is a leader by the way he constantly is getting his team to play harder and stay focused. He is a solid prospect from the class of 2015. Darius Williams- the 6-foot combo guard is a pure scorer who can handle the rock well enough to play the point guard position if needed. He shot the 3-point shot well, showed a solid mid-range game and also got to the rim at will. He plays with a Southern Stampede team that is very talented and they should have a very good summer in the 15U classification.
Dwayne Bacon- the 6-foot-6 inch point guard is ranked number 45 in the Future150 rankings. He has nice frame with long arms that helps him finish well on the break or in half court traffic. He also uses his high vantage point to look over defenders to make the right pass. Florida State and Georgia Southern has already offered. Dillon Beaver is a 5-foot-8 inch 145 pound point guard that reminds you of Steve Nash all the way down to the hair style. Beaver kept the crowd on the edge of their seats waiting to see what he would do next. He shot the ball extremely well off the dribble and used his body to keep defenders behind him to finish in the lane.
Corey Sanders showed alot of athleticism from the point guard position is off the charts. The 2015 6-foot 185 pound guard has a big body that can take bumps while finishing above the rim. Corey played on the Florida Assault 17U team and showed poise beyond his years while displaying a calm demeanor. This Lakeland, Florida prospect has a chance to be a high major player and he has received interest from Georgia Southern and James Madison. Jaylen Brown is a 6-foot-5 inch SF that has a mature body and some major bounce to go along with it. He displayed dunk after dunk in a win over the SC Sixers. He also used his frame and elite leaping ability to rebound the ball very well for the Worldwide Renegade 15U team. Brown will be a force for years in the 2015 class. Jack Brenegan is a 5-foot-10 inch PG in the 2015 class who is extremely fundamental and plays with high motor. His relentless style of play made his teammates step up their play as they fought back into the game during the second half after being down 15 points. He can get to the rim with ease and finishes well through contact.
The 2016 point guard, Tahmir Gadsen showed a lot of promise today. At 6-foot-1 inches and 140 pounds, he is very long and uses a quick first step to get by his defender. The jab step was one of his patented moves to create space to knock down the jumper. He didn’t have a great offensive output tonight but you can tell he has the game to put up numbers. Darrion Taylor is a Future150 alumni out of the 2016 class. We saw him playing with the Worldwide Renegades and boy did jar our memory on why he dazzled at the camp. He is like a blur on the court and has great court vision. He is tenacious on defense to point his opponent just doesn't want the ball. He can knock down the 3-ball as well. Kendrec Grady who is a teammate of Taylor is a big time rebounder at 6-foot-3 inches and 180 pounds. He is a great offensive rebounder and might of been one of the most unselfish players we saw all weekend. He has great court vision on his outlet passes. Look for big things from this duo all summer long.
