Charlottesville, VA (Future150) -- Thursday night and Friday morning brought along plenty of activity on the recruiting trail, and it was the main focus at the NBPA Top 100 Camp on Friday.
One of the more pleasant surprises for the the spring period has been Kendal Harris, a 2013 point guard from the Dallas area.
A member of Urban DFW, Harris missed last summer and this high school season with an ankle injury. Now, he is looking to make up for what he has lost.
"I'm just trying to rack up schools right now. I need to make up for the summer I lost and everything," he explained.
Saying Harris has made up for the lost summer would be an understatement. Despite his injury, schools have taken notice of his talent.
"Thursday night was crazy," he said when asked about the new change in the contact rule. "I got tons of calls. Marquette, Missouri, Nebraska, USC, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State all called me."
While he wants to allow colleges to see him play, Harris hopes to have an early decision in his recruitment.
"I would like to commit before the high school season," he said.
Harris claims no leaders at this point, saying he has relationships with all the schools recruiting him. Either way, Harris could be a huge pickup, as he is a kid that is moving under the radar.
