Las Vegas, NV (Future150) -- Tommy Anderson experienced a very successful middle school season. It started last year when he initially burst onto the national scene at Basketball Spotlight Future Phenom Camp (MD).
Anderson was identified as one of the top players in the 2020 class while competing against other highly ranked middle school players in the country. Scouts raved about his poise and feel for the game at such a young age and noted him as fast rising guard from the west coast.
Tommy competed in several highly competitive camps where he continued to perform well, even earning MVP runner-up at the John Lucas Camp Southwest Camp. His buzz and consistent play earned him an invite to the USA Select middle school team where he helped his team win a championship.
Fast forward to April 2015 with the lights shining and the nation’s best middle school players in the building Anderson did not disappoint. He helped his team go 4-1 in the first session while earning NYBL “Super & Scintillating” top 7 players of all grades the second session where he was identified as “special”.
NYBL Robert Taylor recognized Tommy as a Top 20 player among 2020 players in the league to keep the buzz and accolades rolling in. Like any other kid his age he’s having fun and getting better while working on a bettering his game for the future.
With all these accomplishments most would be satisfied. He has elite vision and good handles, but he wants to add more to his game.
“Staying humble and understanding this journey is a marathon and taking nothing for granted,” said Anderson.
He also went on to talk about how he’s been working on his left hand to make sure he couldn’t be stopped either way.
Anderson also ranks in the top 1% of Nevada kids his age in math, science, and reading. The summer is really heating up and Tommy is ready for all that comes with it.
“I’m really excited about nationals where I will be playing with West Coast All-Stars and attending my first JrFuture150 camp,” said Anderson.
With rankings coming up soon and a lot more basketball to be played I’m pretty sure Tommy’s excitement won’t die down for a while.
