McKie, a 6-foot- 5 shooting guard out of Irmo High School (SC), will admit he isn’t happy with the lack of attention he received in July, but he is ready to prove all his doubters wrong.
“I’m going to prove something to everyone once I get to college,” he assured.
After a good showing at Peach State at the end of July, McKie picked up an offer from Murray State. Wake Forest, Clemson, South Carolina, Memphis, Appalachian State, Wichita State, Georgia, and Virginia Tech are other schools monitoring him right now.
While he puts everyone an evening playing field right now, the scoring guard does say one school is sticking out.
“It’s nothing major, but I would say Memphis is sticking out. They are coming the hardest. They have offered, too.”
Right now, the only visit he has planned is to Memphis. Before school starts, McKie will visit the Tigers’ campus unofficially.
“I have been talking to the coaching staff and they want me to visit before school.”
McKie has no set time for a decision. When the time is right, he will make the call.
“It just depends on how things go in the next few weeks. I can make an early decision, I can make a late decision. I’m not sure yet.”
