Philadelphia, PA (Future150) -- With all of the talent playing in the Mary Kline Classic Underclassmen game, only one player could walk away as the MVP. That distinction went to 2015 Team Takeover point guard Justin Jenifer. While he stands at just 5-foot-10, the Maryland native is a jet with or without the ball in his hands. In addition he has one of the best handles in the class. Jenifer used his dribbling ability to make defenders look foolish at times, including dribbling through a would-be-defender’s legs.
His ability to finish through contact is also impressive. One would think that with his size he would struggle to score at the rim, but he gets English on the ball and puts it high off the glass. Jenifer is more than a scorer though, as he has fantastic court vision. While his three point shot is still behind the rest of his game, he can hit it given time and space.
“I think I could bring a team someone one who can work hard, has great vision, and plays good defense,” Jenifer said. Maybe that’s why schools such as South Florida, Miami, Memphis, and Rutgers have all already offered him. Syracuse, Louisville, Tennessee, and Maryland have all begun to show serious interest as well. Right now, Jenifer says he’s most intrigued by Miami and Memphis.
“I want to play somewhere that plays up-tempo,” he added. Yesterday, he took an unofficial visit to the University of Virginia, and was contacted by Florida as well. Now that coaches can contact 2015 recruits, it looks like he is becoming one of the hottest commodities in his class.
