New York, NY (Future150) -- This is an important season for Monsignor Scanlan. The Brooklyn-based program is looking to make the move up from single A to the vaunted double A ball in the New York City Catholic league next year, and need to prove that they are capable of competing at that level to do so.
Armed with a talented group of underclassmen, it appears the Knights have the talent to compete with most teams in the city. Jordan McCallister may only be a sophomore, but is one of the team's most impressive talents. At 6-foot-4, he is a versatile scorer who can put points up on all three levels. His scoring will be very important to his team moving forward.
"It's good, were going to be together for awhile so we just have to gel and get better as a unit," McCallister said.
Harvard and Monmouth have been the only programs to reach out to McCallister so far, but that should change soon. It is very early in the recruiting process, and there is a good chance that McCallister could end up on a shoe-sponsored AAU team this Spring, which means added exposure.
For now, the talented sophomore is looking to prove that both he and his team can play with anyone in the New York City area, and cement himself as a division one prospect along the way.
