Kaukana, WI (Future150) -- Jordan McCabe is a Sophomore PG out of Kaukana, Wisconsin that runs with the Wisconsin Playground Warriors on the Adidas Circuit. McCabe has always been known for his quickness and flashy handles, but now that he has become a better shooter and slasher he is certainly emerging into a high major recruit.
"My official offer list from newest to oldest is Minnesota, West Virginia, DePaul, Milwaukee, Green Bay, and Missouri," McCabe said. "I've seen interest come from Iowa, Gonzaga, Stanford, Butler, Michigan State, and Ohio State among others."
McCabe knows his skill set is very hard to come by in today's game and he's really using this as an advantage towards his competition and even his recruitment.
"True point guards are hard to come by now a days," McCabe said. "But I feel like I am on of those few guys who can also add a dimension to his game by creating for myself off the dribble, and knocking down jump shots when needed."
This is one of the main reasons McCabe's recruitment is heating up so fast. He is becoming a mutli-dimensional point guard that can run the show and create for his teammates with the best of them, but he can also be deadly by slashing the lane and knocking down shots from deep range. His elite court vision paired with his ever growing scoring skills keeps the defense guessing at all times.
"Heading forward I really want to improve on defensive presence, and overall athletic ability," McCabe said.
Even though he's just a Sophomore, McCabe seems to already have a decent feel for some of the schools who have been recruiting him, This may not seem like a big deal now, but in the future it could take a load off of his shoulders as he will already have a sense of what some of these schools bring to the table.
"I recently took a visit to Minnesota and they have great coaches and a campus that is closer to home," McCabe said. "West Virginia has been strongly recruiting me, Coach Huggins has been to my school and I've been to Morgantown a few times and enjoyed it. DePaul's recruitment has been led by coach Rick Carter, and that relationship continues to grow."
McCabe is emerging into one of the most sought after floor generals in his class, and things should only go up from here. Continue to follow along with Future150 as we track his recruitment heading forward.
