DECATUR, GA (Future150) -- John Ogwuche jumps like few others and now his recruitment is equally bouncy. The junior from Greenforest Christian Academy hopes to expand his list of offers.
"Mississippi State is close to an offer," said AAU Coach James Forrest. "Tennessee Tech, Troy, Georgia, UAB, and Charleston have offered."
Charlotte and Wofford are on the cusp of offering the Class of 2016 shooting guard.
Monday Wofford sent a coach to evaluate Ogwuche, Justin Forrest, and Precious Ayah. Forrest and Ayah are sophomores on the same team. Ayah plays the forward position.
"Wofford loves all three of them, as well," said Coach Forrest, who is also Justin's father in addition to AAU coach.
Charlotte evaluated the team. Gardner-Webb intends to drop by a game.
Forrest amongst the trees
The 5'11" Forrest plays with an enormous frontline in Ayah, 6'7" Victor Enoh, and 6'8" Abayomi Iyiola. Coming off the bench are Mohammed Abdulsalem, and Ikey Obiagu.
The Atlanta Hawks require similar jersey sizes as the Greenforest Christian basketball squad. And still Forrest competes relentlessly. He is not a tag-a-long buddy of the bigs. Rather he leads the team by operating the point.
South Carolina Head Coach Frank Martin watched him play last month. Wake Forest has been in touch. Vanderbilt Assistant Coach Derrick Jones consistently inquires.
"College of Charleston, Charlotte, and Vanderbilt are recruiting Justin pretty hard," said Coach Forrest.
Precious has high interest from Mississippi State. Coach Forrest predicts the SEC school will have an official offer to Ayah by June.
Success for Ayah, Forrest, and Ogwuche is commonplace. Like the AAU team last summer, their high school squad wins and wins.
Just like the soaring Ogwuche their college choices are all up in the air.
