McKinney, TX (Future150) -- 2020 6'5" SG Jhi Jackson of McKinney Boyd (TX) had a big summer on the AAU scene in Texas running with the North Texas Hawks. There are plenty of things that attributed to Jackson's successes this summer, but it also helps that he's already 6'5" and playing on the wing as a rising sophomore.

"I worked on my ball-handling abilities and focused on slashing to the basket a lot more," Jackson said. "I also focused a little more on the mechanics of my jump shot as I tried to become more of a consistent shooter."

Jackson first caught the eye of the Future150 staff members at the our Dallas Battleground Tournament, where he was highly impressive using his size and length on the wing to his advantage around the basket when attacking the lane.

His skill level didn't wow anyone but it was stlll good enough to catch many eyes as a 2020 wing prospect. Not only is Jackson a fairly young prospect for a sophomore, but he's only been playing organized basketball for just a little bit of time now.

"I started playing in the 7th grade just because my friends were always playing it," Jackson said when asked how/when he started playing the game. "I didn't start training with my coach and playing organized basketball until my 8th grade year."

To put that into perspective, as of now he has the looks of a very solid low-major prospect with considerable upside, and he started playing basketball just three years ago.

There is no doubt Jackson is going to be a special player in the Dallas metro area. The question now becomes how much better will he get? How close will he get to his ceiling before his senior season? The answers to those questions will soon come into place, but for now we will continue to keep a close watch on him as he looks to have a big high school season at McKinney Boyd.

Stay locked in with Future150 as we continue to follow Jackson's progress and development along with our other alumni as well.
