Houston, TX (Future150) -- Growing up within the city of Houston, 2014 Yates (Tex.) power forward JC Washington always had an admiration for his hometown college, the University of Houston.
In the end, his dream school won out, as the 6-foot-7 athlete has signed and committed with the Cougars.
“It home,” Washington told Future150.com. “The university has so much history and growing up, it was my dream school.”
Like many other young student-athletes, the entire situation is still surreal to Washington, especially after saying yes to his dream school.
“It’s just like people say, ’dreams do come true.’ Now I have no choice but to believe that.”
The versatile athlete will be able to do many things for Houston, whether it is play with his back to the basket, or stretch the floor and bring his man to the perimeter.
Washington chose Houston over offers from Northern Colorado, Temple, Drexel, Hofstra, and Jacksonville.
He is a three-star according to Future150.
