Atlanta, GA (Future150) -- Every class sees players who start off strong in their high school careers, plateau for a bit, and then hit their stride again senior year and shoot back up the rankings. After a strong spring and summer, Jayce Johnson proved his was a top 75 prospect and more than fits that mold.
On Monday, Johnson cut his list to Cal, Utah, Stanford, Colorado and Notre Dame. Utah and Colorado will have in-home visits with Johnson and his family on September 9th, with the other three programs settitng up in-homes as well.
Johnson has also set up official visits to Cal (September 19th), Notre Dame (September 25th), Utah (October 8th), and Cal (October 15th). Stanford will be his final official, but a date has yet to be set for that one.
It appears that he will be staying out on the west coast, unless Notre Dame finds some way to garner a commitment from him. They may be late to the party, (they were the last to offer), but also need a couple of big men in this class. Johnson will go through all visits before making a decision, so don't expect this one to wrap up until next month at the earliest.
