Hampton, VA (Future150) -- Let me start by saying NIKE has created a beautiful thing in the EYBL. It either exposes kids who aren't able to play up to an elite level, or helps kids who aren't exactly big names to boost their stock, provided they have the talent for it.

For James Young it is the latter, a 6-foot-6 small forward with a silky smooth game, Young was already on the radar for a plethora of high major programs and a highly regarded prospect in his own right before this EYBL season began. After a fantastic first weekend on the EYBL circuit, the buzz around Young was large, and he didn't disappoint.

Young led his team to multiple victories this past weekend, including one over pre-season ranked #1 Oakland Soldiers. He showed his ability to score the ball at all three levels and was effective in doing so, shooting 55% from the field. But Young is much more than just a scorer, he is a fantastic rebounder and a decent passer as well. There is very little weakness in his game right now as he seemingly excels at every aspect on the court.

After watching him extensively this weekend it is obvious that Young is truly one of the elite members of his class and is due for a jump in the rankings. Ohio State, Kansas, Kentucky, and Michigan State are all hard after the wing among others and surely more will get involved as the spring and summer go on. Despite all of the praise Young remains humble and hungry to prove that he is truly one of the best in the nation.
