Baltimore, MD (Future150) -- Montez McNeil is arguably the best rebounder in his class, according to his coach. The 6'5 PF had huge outings in the AAU D1 National Tournament for Team Melo, including a 13 block, 13rebound performance in the championship game.

According to his coach (and Team Melo's recruiting coordinator), Dwayne Wise, McNeil is the best rebounder and one of the best shotblockers in the class. What makes him the best?

"It's his motor that separates him from the other guys in the class," said Wise. "He knows his role, you know. He doesn't try to be Kevin Durant or Carmelo Anthony. He loves to rebound and protect the rim. He really embraces that role."

McNeil has his parents to thank for some of that, as he comes from good bloodlines. His mother and father both played Division 1 hoops, the former playing for West Virginia. They've helped him understand, at an early age, the importance of having an elite skill.

"Montez has learned and understands already that he's got an elite skill. His motor and his rebounding," Wise said. "He can block shots, and he can score. He's a good finisher around the rim. He's got a great work ethic already, too."

While he doesn't have a high school chosen yet, he's being courted by all of the big Baltimore and DC area high schools.

We'll get our first look at Montez this winter when Team Melo enters the MadeHoops 8th Grade Winter League.
