Chicago, IL (Future150) -- Kendrick Nunn has been here once before. Last season he committed to Mark Turgeon and Texas A&M. Once Turgeon left for Maryland, Nunn decided to open things back up and re-evaluate his options.
After a more lengthy recruitment, Nunn has decided where he will play his college ball. He is going to stay at home and play for the Fighting Illni. This is a huge get for John Groce and Illinois, as not only is Nunn one of the top players in the country, but he is from the fertile recruiting grounds of Chicago.
Getting a player from the area is big as it will attract other players in the area as well. Some players to keep an eye on are 2013 big man Gavin Schilling, as well as 2014 forwards Jahlil Okafor and Paul White, among others.
Nunn will bring a major scoring punch to the Illini and fans should love him right away, He joins Malcolm Hill and Maverick Morgan as part of Illinois' 2013 class.
