Memphis, TN (Future150) -- For weeks, Illinois was the behind-the-scenes leader for 2014 Memphis (Tenn.) White Station forward Leron Black.
On Sunday, the 6-foot-7 star made his commitment to John Groce and his staff before leaving his official visit.
Since his de-commitment from Baylor, Illinois has made Black their top priority, as they followed him throughout the summer. In the end, it paid off for the Illini.
Black was also considering Baylor, Tennessee, and Indiana.
He is the second commitment for Illinois' 2014 class, as they already have Michael Finke on-board.
Things now turn to Cliff Alexander and Quentin Snider, both of whom are close with Illinois. Alexander and Black had discussed playing together in college earlier in the summer.
Black is the No. 14 overall player in the 2014 Future150 rankings.
