Duncanville, TX (Future150) -- Triple AAA Academy hosted the Hype Sports King of the Court this weekend.  Day One reintroduced some familiar faces.  Some new faces also impressed.

Day 1 Honor Roll

Lavontae Shenault, 2019 (Fly High All Stars): Big, bruising guard that plays with extreme amounts of hustle and can score in a variety of ways. A good spot up shooter and slasher in the lane.

Cole Williams, 2019 (So Fly All Stars) Knock-down shooter. Williams has solid handles, but can score in bunches.  Williams is a kid you can't leave much space or he will shoot it.

Evan Butts, 2020 (Pro Skill Select) Butts shot the ball very well against the Dallas Mustang's zone.  He is a smart guard that doesn't force the issue on offense.

Kobe Ollison, 2020 (Pro Skill Select) Ollison is a space-eater inside and gave the opponent issues all game on the boards. Needs to finish better, but he does have a nose for the ball once it goes up and is an interior presence on defense.

Jonathan Alexander, 2020 (Pro Skills Select) This was the first time the 6'4 Haitian played in America and he has tremendous upside. Alexander is an athletic forward that can put the ball on the floor and score inside. Uses his length very well on defense and rebounds. This kid's development will be intriguing to watch.  He has potential.

Daylon Wright, 2019 (3D Sports) Wright is a freak athlete that had over 20 rebounds tonight for his team in a close victory over Ballers Elite. Wright possesses a good mid-range jumper and finishes strong inside. A raw player, but he has potential to be a very good player.

Runner Up

Vincent Rockwell, 2020 (Ballers Elite) The lefty was impressive the first night as he displayed his arsenal. Can shoot deep from three and finishes well with both hands. What impressed me most is that he drives left and finishes with a right-handed floater the majority of the time. Very Mike Conley-esque.

MVP

Tariq Aman, 2019 (3D Sports) Aman is a high level point guard that plays above his age in terms of skill set and basketball IQ. He creates opportunities for his teammates very well and also handles pressure well. Aman was hurt back in January, but has bounced back and is proving a point.  He was absolutely the best player in this tournament. He gets my Day 1 MVP.
