Southport, IN (Future150) -- Grassroots Indiana (IN) 15U team made gigantic waves this summer while playing in the highly competitive Under Armour Association, where they captured a league championship in late July at "The Finals" in Atlanta, Georgia.
With a roster heavy in division one talent, one of the major headliners of the team was 2017 SG Paul Scruggs of Southport (IN). Here's what we had to say about him after viewing him in late July:
"The 6-foot-3 power guard is one of the most physically imposing wings that we have seen in the class to date. He can finish against contact around the rim, and although he is a bigger and stronger kid, he still has the ball skills and quick first step to get to the rim at any moment. Good on-ball defender as well."
Coming into the event, he held offers from local powers Indiana and Purdue, as well as one from Xavier. After his impressive play during the final evaluation period, he landed an offer from Kansas, giving a barometer for just how sought after the wing is becoming.
He visited the Indiana campus on August 5th, and plans to make visits to Kansas, Purdue and Xavier as well in the near future.
During his freshman year at Southport, he sported averages of 12.3 points, 5.8 rebounds & 2.9 assists per game.
