Corinth, MS (Future150) -- The recruiting front has been somewhat quiet for 2015 Jackson (Tenn.) South Side point guard Chris McNeal to this point in his career, but it looks like things may be changing soon.
As of right now, the 6-foot playmaker holds offers from a host of mid-major programs.
“I have offers from UMass, UT-Martin, Cleveland State, Toledo, High Point, Tennessee State, and South Alabama,” he told Future150.com. “Baylor, Cincinnati, and Murray State are the most recent schools on me.”
After his play early in the season, especially at the Lighthouse Classic, McNeal has proved he has all the tools to be a high-major point guard. With his quickness and ball-handling, the junior is excelling at getting into the lane and making plays.
“My strengths are running, dribbling, and making the right decisions.”
Despite his high-major interest, the schools that offered McNeal are still working very hard to make an impression. There are two schools leading the pack right now:
“Cleveland State and High Point are sticking out the most right now. They contact me every day,” he explained.
Expect McNeal to have a big AAU season next summer. By then, he could have several high-major offers and more interest.
McNeal is a three-star and ranked No. 141 in the 2015 class.
