Williamsport, PA (Future150) -- Everyone knows the amount of quality high school talent in the city of Philadelphia. Each year, the city produces a high number of division one players that are followed by local media from the time they hit their freshman year of high school.
In smaller cities around the state, media publicity is harder to find, even though there are certainly a number of quality prospects hailing from places such as Allentown, Bethlehem, Harrisburg, Lancaster and Williamsport, to name a few.
One of those prospects who has been flying under the radar is Williamsport High School (PA) 6'3" wing Stan Scott. Outside of Williamsport Sun-Gazette sports writer Chris Masse, the buzz on the explosive shooting guard has been minimal.
However, after making waves as a Future150 Pennsylvania Camp All-Star selection, his stock has been on the rise ever since.
Leading a talented Millionaire team this season, he's making his case as one of the elite talents in Pennsylvania with averages around 22 points, seven rebounds, four assists & four steals per game. The impressive slasher and leaper is leaving it all on the floor in his last year of high school, and schools are taking notice.
The younger brother of former Williamsport star and current UMass-Lowell standout Jahad Thomas, he's hearing from schools such as Delaware State, Iona & Oakland University. His aunt, Madina Ali, is also a former Williamsport star player who went on to play at West Virginia, so bloodlines are not an issue for Scott.
"Right now, I'm at my best when attacking the basket, but I need to work on my on-ball defense," he told Future150.
While he's still sorting out where he'll be playing basketball next year, he's making sure that players and teams around the state remember his hame long after he's done playing at Williamsport High School. Stay tuned for a district and state playoff run.
