Pottsville, PA (Future150) -- Being a twin is a unique situation. One of the pros of having an identical copy of yourself is that you always have someone to hang out with and relate to. More often than not, you get used to going through school, athletics & life in general together. For 2017 guard Justin Abdo, the past three few years have been a learning experience for him. With brother Jordan moved up in the Pottsville High School (PA) program as a freshman, Justin has had a chance to create his own identity on the court, something that ended up really helping his development.
The 6'0" combo guard has always had excellent court vision and above-average ball skills, but his shooting has been a work in progress. After putting in a ton of work over the past few years, he finds himself starting in the backcourt with his brother in his senior season, and his game is prospering.
Averaging over 10 points per game this year, he saw all of his hard work pay off two nights ago with a verbal commitment to play at Lebanon Valley College.
A smart player with a much improved jumper this season, he's playing to his strengths as a senior.
"I'm really good at creating shots for my teammates and driving to the hoop," he told Future150.
A Future150 Pennsylvania Camp All-Star in September, he's still working on getting better in his free time.
"I'm still working on my pull-up jump shooting and my 3-point shooting," he said.
With his brother committing to Lebanon Valley College as well, it looks like the Abdo brothers will get a chance to continue their basketball journey together, which has to make their father proud, who's played semi-pro basketball in the area.
For now though, Justin's focused on this season and this season alone.
"I want to win a state championship."
