South Bend, IN (Future150) -- If we're talking about states in the U.S. known not only for elite basketball talent, but also an overall passion for the game of basketball by everyone within state borders, Indiana is near the top.
That isn't lost on Saint Joseph High School freshman and Future150 alum Greenan Sullivan, who grew up with the same passion most Hoosier State residents possess.
In his first season playing high school basketball, playing for his Indians team, he did what few freshman nationally can say they did, he started...and produced. He averaged 10 points per game along with just over two steals per contest. However, next year he expects bigger things from himself.
"Next season, I'd like to average 20 points and seven assists. I'd also like to increase my steals per game while minimizing my turnovers."
The 5'10", 165-pound floor general is a tireless worker who models his game after several hardwood stars.
"With my ball-handling and point guard skills, I try to copy Steve Nash and Chris Paul. I have a lot of opposing coaches who tell me I play like Nash because I like to penetrate and keep my dribble no matter how crowded it is inside."
"My game right now conists of a lot of floaters, euro-steps, and secondary moves. I'm also starting to do a lot of jump stops with my own signature moves."
While he is also working all the time on improving his individual game, he is also a model teammate who has big goals for Saint Joseph as well.
"I'm trying to get our team as far in playoffs as I possibly can next year."
It looks like not only did his Saint Joseph High School team luck out, but also his MBA Select AAU team as well. They inherited a a player who is not only dedicated to becoming the best basketball player he can become, but also the best person he can become as well.
"With all this basketball, it sounds like that is all I do. Not quite. My biggest pursuit is my faith. I get to mass almost every day, and I am often reading something spiritual, whether it's scripture or a book about a saint. It gives me strength to be disciplined and to sacrifice for others while also helping me to keep everything in perspective."
The journey is just starting for Greenan Sullivan, but it looks like a very promising one.

Comments:
Greenan Sullivan is the greatest basketball player east of the Mississippi. Just under 5’8 on a good day, Greenan can touch net consistently. If I had to bet all of my marbles on one Ginger in Northern Indiana, Greenan would be a solid second choice. With the help of Rod Creech, a great mastervator (master-motivator… its a Michael Jordan term), I expect Greenan to come out and just “kill em”, as the children say.
Goodluck to him!!
