Atlanta, GA (Future150) -- While there were plenty of high-profile college coaches out during the first live period, there was plenty of talent that has largely flown under the national radar as well. Grant Bryant is well-known in the state of Georgia, but has yet to break out on the national stage. That may all change after a solid showing at the Pittsburgh Jam Fest and several events after.
Bryant showed what makes his game so appealing to coaches at the next level. At 6-foot-7, he put the ball on the floor and attacked the rim, as well as scored close to the basket when getting the ball down low. Perhaps his best attribute is his motor; which seems to be constantly running. He rebounds the ball well for someone his size, even recording a 50 point, 35 rebound outing in a high school game this year.
Bryant is also a lockup defender. He can use his speed to guard smaller defenders, and his athleticism in order to block or alter shots at the rim. It is because of his versatility that Grant already holds offers from Boston University, Radford, Wofford, Jacksonville, Appalachian State, and Kennesaw State.
In addition to those offers, he has interest from UAB, ECU, Marquette, Alabama, FAU, and Xavier. While none of the bigger programs have yet to offer, a strong showing in July would go a long way in getting one.
Some factors going into Bryant’s decision are “A team that plays and acts like family, plays fast paced, a history of winning, and coaches that would have my back.”
No matter where he ends up, Grant should have an impact. Whether it be as a star player at a smaller program, or a rotation player at a major program; one thing is for certain. That school will be getting a great player who works hard and gives his team 110% every time he steps on the floor.
