Dallas, TX (Future150) -- Heading into the July live period, 2015 Plano West (Tex.) Austin Grandstaff was expected to be one of the most tracked juniors in the country. Nevertheless, he decided to end his recruitment early.
The 6-foot-4 combo guard made the call for Travis Ford and Oklahoma State on Sunday. In the end, the Cowboys offered everything Grandstaff could ask for.
"I just went down there and fell in love with everything. The facilities are unreal; the campus is beautiful; it's four hours away from home; and there are good academics," he told Future150.com.
Oklahoma State's guard freedom and play also was a big factor for Grandstaff.
"The coaching staff let's you play," he explained. "They shoot a lot of 3s and develop your game a lot. Coach [Travis] Ford is the best player coach I have ever seen."
With his high-volume shooting and scoring, Grandstaff will fit right in with Ford's guard-oriented offense.
The combo guard is the Cowboys' first commitment for 2015, but Grandstaff already has someone in mind that he wants to recruit to Oklahoma State.
"I'm definitely going to be on Elijah Thomas now. I'm going to recruit him."
Grandstaff is a four-star according to Future150 and comes in at No. 49 in the 2015 Future150 Rankings.
