Nashville, TN (Future150) -- Beginning this week, we will be spotlighting current NBA and college stars who first earned their stripes at Future150 camps across the country during their high school days.

We will start our annual spotlight with a player who has taken the country by storm this season, leading his team to a current Associated Press #6 ranking in the country.

We first saw Shane Larkin the summer after his tenth grade year, when he attended our Birmingham Future150 Camp with his Showtime Ballers team, coached by Diana Neal.

After attending the camp, he went on to become a top 100 player in the United States, and his exposure really took off. Here is an update on the star guard...

Name: Shane Larkin

Team: Miami Hurricanes

Class: Sophomore

Hometown: Orlando, Florida

High School: Dr. Phillips

Height: 5'11"

Weight: 180

2012-2013 Accomplishments: Shane is the catalyst behind the Hurricanes breakout season in the ACC. He has led his team to victories over ranked opponents Duke, North Carolina (twice), and North Carolina State. Currently, he has them in the driver seat to win the Atlantic Coast Conference regular season title, as they are currently two games ahead of the Blue Devils. They are also in line to receive a #1 seed in the upcoming NCAA tournament.

He is also one of the frontrunners for the ACC Player of the Year, sporting averages of 13.8 points, 4.3 assists, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per contest. Because of his breakout sophomore season, he has also boosted his NBA stock significantly in the process.
