Hoover, AL (Future150) -- The last Live Period of July was this past weekend and Future150 hosted its Nationals.  This was the last touranment of the year on the Future150 schedule. The field was loaded with tons of young talent from 8 different states.

The 13U Championship featured two teams from the state of Mississippi in MBA Hoops and the Starkville Swish.  The game was tight early but the pace of play was too much for the Swish as MBA pulled away to win the championship 64-47.

Lets take a look at the stand out players from this past weekned in the 13U division and who made the All Tournament Team.

Touranment MVP- Isaiah Spencer - SF (MBA Hoops)

All Tourney Team:

Legion Gaston- SG (Team Alabama)
Kelby Collins- PF (Iron City Huskies)
Jarvis Barber- PG (Crossover Elite)
Jonathan Baker- PG (Starkville Swish)

Isaiah Spencer- SF 2023 (MBA Hoops) Spencer is a 6-foot prospect who has nice frame and is very athletic.  He loves getting out on the fastbreak and doing damage of the dribble.  Rebounding, playing defense and creating plays for his teammates are things he does well when he's on the court. He averaged 14 points and 7 rebounds on the weekend as he lead his team to the championship.

Joshua Hubbard- PG 2023 (MBA Hoops) Hubbard is a very quick, skilled point guard with a high basketball IQ. His speed and quickness allows him to play great on ball defense as well as guard multiple positions.  Court vision, ball handling skills and court awareness are things he did well when creating for his teammates.  His overall perfomance helped his team take home the championship.

Jaren Jones- SG 2023 (Team Alabama) Jones is a player when the ball is in his hand good things tend to happen for himself and his teammates.  He showed the cany ability to score on all three levels and loves using his attacking style to get to the free throw line.  He averaged 12 points and 3 assists for the tournament.

Kelby Collins- PF 2023 (Iron City Huskies) Collins is a familiar face to Future150's staff as we have seen him all summer do nothing but get better.  At 6-foot-4 inches, he has a great body and knows how to use it when playing the paint. Rebounding on both ends, blocking shots and scoring around the rim and things that stand out when you watch him play.  He averaged a double double for the 3 straight Future150 tourney.  #Tons of Upside

Legion Gaston- SG 2023 (Team Alabama) Gaston is a 5-foot-10 inch sniper from beyond the arc. He lit up the scoring column with 6 3’s finishing with 22 points and the win! His ability to move without the ball at this age is something you just don't see that much.  He knows how to create space, set his feet and shoot the ball at a high level. Averaging 14 points per game on the weekend lands him on the all tourney team.

Jonathan Baker- 2023 PG (Starkville Swish) Baker is a shifty guard who is atheltic and explosive when finishing at the basket. Being strong with the bal, getting downhill and crafty around the rim are all things he did really well on the weekend.  If you leave him open he showed the ability to make shots consistenty.  Solid overall performance for this long, lanky prospect.

Jarvis Barber- PG 2023 (Crossover Elite) Barber is a lead guard that understands the game at a high level.  He has the ball on a string and makes everyone around him better.  Scoring on all three levels is something he did well all weekend long.  He average 17 points and 4 assist for the weekend which is good enough to land him on the all tourney team.

Trey Naugher- PG 2023 (Starkville Swish) Naugher had a nice weekend distributing the ball to his teammates. He did most of his damage in transition and getting to the rim off the bounce.  Once he gets downhill on his defender he is extremely hard to stop. Averaging 11 points and 5 assists helped his team compete all weekend long.
