Houston, TX (Future150) -- The inaugural Future150 Final Four Weekend tournament kicked off this weekend, with a number of talent prospects playing their way onto the radar.
The 16U division showcased a number of players who will be certainly be ones to keep an eye on moving forward. The Houston Cowboys edged out Xpress Sports, 50-48 in the final. Wing forward Tyler Hudson turned in an 11 point, 9 rebound outing on the way to leading his team to the 16U crown. There were a number of players who made themselves known this weekend and are on Future150's radar:
Christopher Moore, 2018 CF, Xpress Sports: Moore did a good job of rebounding the ball and scoring in the lane. He has improved his offensive arsenal and is transitioning into more of a perimeter player, which is key for his development.
Ronnie Chaney, 2019 PF, Texas Jazz Elite: Chaney is an undersized four man who worked hard on the glass and scored on the low block when he got the ball. His motor and strength allowed him to clear space and rebound. He also showed what looked to be a solid mid-range jumper.
Jayleon Ward, 2018 CF, Houston Kings: Ward was a force on the low block on Friday night, where he grabbed rebounds and finished through contact. He kept his chin on the rim and was able to power through defenders, helping his team to the win. It will be interesting to see how he develops down the road.
Jaylon Harrel, 2018 CG, Total Package: Harrel is a talented scorer who knocked down shots from beyond the arc, as well as got to the rim. He is more of a natural shooting guard but showed he can be used as a primary ball-handeler as well.
Bryon Brown, 2018 CG, Total Package: Brown is a quick and versatile guard who handles pressure well. He has a decent pull-up jumper and made very good decisions in transition. Brown is also a very good ball-handler.
Dominic Warner, 2018 PG, Texas Jazz Elite: Warner is a quick and crafty guard with good court vision. His speed allows him to get into the lane where he is able to create for his teammates.
Jaylen Reed, 2018 SF, Texas Inferno: An athletic wing for a nose for the ball, Reed rebounded the ball at a high rate all weekend. He also showed that he can score on multiple levels and in different ways. His size makes him more suited to play guard down the line so it will serve him well to develop those skills now.
Clayton Woods, 2018 SG, Hoop Nation: Woods is an athletic guard who does a good job of getting into the lane thanks to his speed and understanding of the game. He was able to get into the lane at times, allowing him to find teammates for open looks. He must improve as a shooter but overall has a bright future.
Johnny Green Jr, 2018 PG, Hoop Nation: A quick and skilled guard who displayed his ability to his teammates up to score, Green showed he is a true floor general. He made his teammates better in both the half court and transition settings, as well as scored quite a bit himself.
Garrett Roth, 2018 CG, TX Inferno: Roth is the type of player that alot of coaches love because he makes the kind of winning plays that few others do. He is very skilled shooting the ball can handle the ball. Roth also makes the right cuts and moves very well without the ball.
Mike Woods, 2018 PG, Hyperfuse: Woods is a physical specimen who does a great job of getting to the rim thanks to his powerful frame. He has good speed and is almost impossible to stop from getting to the rim.
Koby Richardson, 2018 PG, TX Jazz Elite: He is a small guard but very smart in transition and half court settings. He his deadly in ball screen situations and knows how to put his teammates in the right situations to score as a good point guard should. He handles the ball very well and shoots the mid-range at a high level.
