Houston, TX (Future150) -- The 15U division for the Future150 Easter Showcase possessed some of the top young talent Houston had to offer. With a few 8th grade teams playing up, the staff got to see how younger players got to adjust to the speed of the game. The champions were Houston Rockstarz as they defeated God First Crusaders on Sunday.

Zachary Iyeyemi 2019, PF - Houston Rockstarz: Iyeyemi stands at around 6-foot-6 and he is skilled in the post. He also showed that he can shoot it from midrange as well but it was his ability to rebound and finish inside that made him stand out. Iyeyemi needs to be more assertive with the ball in the post but his footwork was impressive when he was looking to score.

Tremarcus Woods 2019, C - Houston Rockstarz: Woods is 6-foot-7 and physical inside. Him and Iyeyemi form a tough front-court for Rockstarz. The lefty gains most of his points off getting good position in the post and using a hook shot. He is a high level rebounder and he is a smart help-side defender.

Isaiah LeBlanc 2020, SF - God First Crusaders: LeBlanc can shoot the ball at a very high level. He can shoot the ball with a hand in his face and he has good elevation on his jumper off the catch or off the dribble. He showed the ability to handle the ball some but his decision making off drives can be better because when he looks to pass he telegraphs it, which leads to tips. LeBlanc led his team offensively this weekend and he showed the maturity to be a leader for his team.

Stayve Thomas Jr. 2020, CF - God First Crusaders: Thomas Jr. is about 6-foot-6 and he plays with a lot of heart. Although he may be raw offensively in regards to his handles and coordination, he plays with such a high motor that he is still very effective on the court. He rebounds well, has a soft touch from 12 feet, and he finishes inside through contact. His ball handling ability isn't great, but if he can improve his perimeter skills, he will be a sought after prospect.

Leron Brown 2019, CG - Houston Kings: Brown is a long guard that played multiple spots on the floor for the Houston Kings. He took what the defense gave him and showcased a high basketball IQ. Brown is also a good rebounder for a guard. Once he becomes a better ball-handler and passer, he will be a very promising prospect.

Malik Qualls 2019, PG - Shooting Stars: Qualls is a bit undersized but used his speed and vision to create scoring opportunities for both himself and his teammates. He took a few plays off at times, but if he develops a killer instinct, watch out.

Torreon Bergeron 2019, SG - TBT:  Bergeron is an athletic wing prospect who can really score the ball. Based on his size, he may be better suited as a point guard down the road, but as of right now, he is a decent offensive weapon.

Cartier Parnell 2019, CG - Fort Bend 6ers: Parnell shot lights out on Sunday. He shot 55% in his game against Fam Elite and once his feet are set, it seemed that everyone knew the shot was going in. He is long and he can finish inside from time to time. His handles will need to get better under tight pressure but his ability to stretch the floor is important for his team’s success.

Andre Gill 2019, CF - Houston Phenoms: Gill is an athletic forward that is versatile on offense and defense. He is a versatile prospect on the defensive end. Offensively he showed he can handle the ball in transition and finish. When he gets a head of steam he is hard to stop, but can also be turnover prone when he is moving too fast.

Javon Jackson 2020, PG - RL9: Jackson has great ball handling abilities and scores efficiently off of floaters in the mid-range. He did struggle a little bit with the speed of the game at the 15u but for the most part he held his own and looked comfortable on the court. Jackson has a lot of potential and we will keep an eye on his development in the future.

DJ Richards 2020, CG - RL9: Richards runs the lanes well and can handle the ball strong as well. He plays more shooting guard than point but he did a good job at both spots this weekend. He has a quick release on his jumpshot, which allows him to get his shot off bigger defenders. His decision making on passes needs work and so does his shot selection but Richards is a very productive player at this point.

Jeremy Coleman 2019, PF - Urban Kings: Coleman has  nice touch inside the paint. He has a solid hook shot and he can operate well in the high post. If Coleman keeps developing his all-around game, he can be a hard matchup for any player.

Kalen Tutt 2019, CG - Barrett Station Heat: The one word that comes in mind when talking about Tutt’s game is scrappy. He plays hard-nosed defense and he is physical on both sides of the floor. He mainly gets his points in transition and in the lane but he does have a solid jump shot when his feet aew set. He needs to work on his jumper more and and improve his ball-handling, but his toughness can separate him from others if he can continue to improve.

Deuce Guidry 2020, PG - Fam Elite: Guidry is small but he is a very skilled guard and is tough. He has range from beyond the college three and he is a strong passer coming off screens. Guidry makes the right plays on offense and his game is mature for his age. Defensively he is solid but he needs to be more focused on that side more and pick up his intensity.

Dylan Miles 2020, PG - Fam Elite: Miles shares the backcourt with Guidry and they were entertaining to watch. Miles shoots the ball well from the perimeter but more importantly he facilitates at a high level. Miles isn’t very fast but he has a decent first step and he uses floaters to score inside. He can be a better scorer off the dribble but Miles is a true point guard with room to grow.

Nicholas Harrison 2019, SF- FYN All-Stars: Harrison is a wing player who has good skills when attacking on the fast break.  He can knock down the open jumper if left open.  He scored in double figures in 2 of their 3 games. Overall Harrison had a solid weekend. Skill development for this yourng prospect is essential in his development.
