Atlanta, GA (Future150) -- In the 13U age group, there were a number of players who caught the eyes of the Future150 staff throughout the weekend. Ultimately, it was Triple Threat and small forward Glen Walker that took the title game, beating a talented Birmingham Blaze squad 65-46 on Sunday afternoon.
Here are some of the standouts from the weekend...
Devin Floyd, 2019 SF, Mississippi Bobcats: Floyd is a long and active wing that attacks the glass well and uses his length to be a solid defender. He ran the floor well and cleaned up the boards, scoring without the team running a play for him.
Jared Wells, 2019 SF, Atlanta Attack: Wells is another talented wing that runs the floor well and has good length. He did a majority of his work attacking from the high post and also did a good job of grabbing rebounds as well.
Glen Walker, 2019 SF, Triple Threat: One of the most efficient players in his age group was none other than Walker, who helped lead his team to the title as one of his squad's primary scorers and rebounders. The future appears bright for this talented wing prospect.
Lance Wise, 2019 PG, Triple Threat: Wise was aggressive throughout the weekend, attacking the rim and pressuring his man defensively. While his aggression may have led to a couple of extra fouls, Wise must be commended on bringing a solid effort everytime he stepped on the floor. He is a natural leader and helped his team to win the title.
Jalen Roberts, 2019 SG, Atlanta Attack: Roberts was one of his team's primary scoring options throughout the weekend and he didn't let his team down. He has a knack for scoring the rock and should develop into a solid player down the line.
Comments:
The birmingham blaze made the finals but none our players were among the standouts. We beat the Mississippi bobcats and the Atlanta attack but our players don’t get any recognition.
