Powder Springs, GA (Future150) -- The Future150 Easter Showcase was the second stop on our tournament schedule and we picked up right where we left off in Houston, TX last weekend. That’s with elite young talent that competed at a high level. The ProComm Warriors won the championship game against a feisty and talented D’Ville Dreams team. It came down to the wire with big plays made by big time kids at a young age. Here are some of the top players from the tournament:
Jamisen Winters, 2021 PG, ProComm Warriors: Jamisen played solid and consistent all weekend. He was a constant player for the champions of the tournament. He is a high IQ guard that steps up in big time moments.
Madison Durr, 2021 CG, ProComm Warriors: Madison is a big guard that has a knack for scoring. He scored off the dribble, mid-range, and from the three. Though he has a lot of basketball to be played in his young career, he showed maturity beyond his years amongst his peers.
Rodney Wilkerson, 2021 SG, D’Ville Dreams: Rodney is a super quick scoring guard that’s relentless at attacking the basket. He thrived in transition all weekend and had defenders on their heels trying to keep up.
Jaquez Smith, 2021 PF, D’Ville Dreams: Jaquez made his presence felt on both ends of the floor. At 5-foot-10 with solid ball handling skills, he was hard to contain. He also has athleticism that most kids his age just do not have which allowed him to dominate the boards and finish plays under the basket through contact. There is only one word that describes him "Beast".
Dezhion Carter, 2021 PG, Montgomery Fire: Dezhion definitely was in the argument as one of the best 6th graders in the tournament. For his Montgomery Fire team he done it all. He’s a big point guard who used his size to get in the lane and finish with contact. Against bigger teams he became a dominant rebounder and neutralized other teams size with his high basketball IQ.
Jermicheal Mahorn, 2021 CG, D’Ville Dreams: Jermicheal had a really good weekend for his D’ville Dream squad that made it to the championship game. He played a big part on a talented team that had a lot of star power. Jermicheal can play either guard position effectively, but he excels more now as a scorer. He ended one game with 24 points and a win.
Jabari Smith, 2021 PF, GA United: Jabari is a big man with a soft touch. He showed flashes of what is to come with his developing game. He’s with a great program and people that will help him reach his full potential. The future looks bright for Jabari.
Dadrian Spann, 2021 WF, South Atlanta Knights: South Atlanta Knights as a team had a tough weekend against some stiff competition, but they competed like champions. Though they had a tough weekend Dadrian shined through it all. He is a stat sheet stuffer. He can score, rebound, and play defense. He has the intangibles and size to be really good in the future.
Jordan Brown, 2021 CG, GA United: Brown is a slasher who can play multiple positions on the floor. He was one of the better scorers in the 12U age bracket. He showed he can affect the game on both ends of the floor. Most of his damage was done of making mid range jumpers and offensive rebounds. Talented Scorer.
