Concord, NC (Future150) -- Class of 2018 shooting guard and an alumni of the Future150 Elite24 Camp, Qon Murphy transferred from Hough High School (NC) to Cannon School (NC) this year, and is having a very productive season. The 6'5" two-guard has all the intangibles to be a big time playmaker at the next level and he's definitely put this on display with Cannon so far this year.
"My role on this team is to be a leader, score the ball, and bring energy at all times," Murphy told Future150 regarding his role on his new team this season.
A versatile guard that has the ability to play the one, two, or three, he can score from anywhere on the floor and can get hot in a hurry and score in bunches. His talent level is equal on both sides of the floor as he knows how to defend and takes pride in his defense.
Last time Future150 checked in with him, he only had one offer on his list; UNC-Charlotte, and was seeing interest from a few high- major schools. His offer list now also includes one from Hampton, and he has seen multiple new schools begin to keep tabs on him.
"Santa Clara, Wake Forest, Radford, Virginia Tech, and Old Dominion have showed a lot of interest lately," Murphy said.
He has also seen interest from Appalachian State, Clemson, and NC State previously. It's not a surprise to see high-major programs sniffing around Murphy, as he definitely has the skills and intangibles to be a high-major prospect and possesses a very high ceiling as a potential combo guard.
While Murphy continues to try help lead Cannon and improve his game, keep a close eye on his name as he could pick up plenty of mid and high-major offers within the next six months.
Stay locked in with Future150 as we continiue to track Murphy's recruitment and on-court progress along with many of our other Elite24 alums.
