Cullman, AL (Future150) -- The future continues to look bright for 2017 J.O. Johnson (Ala.) wing John Petty, who has his best basketball ahead of him.
Despite being a freshman, the 6-foot-5 wing is already the focal point of his team's offense, as he has burst onto the scene early this season with 20 and 30-point performances.
With his length and versatility and skill-set, Petty is a very intriguing prospect for many people, including college coaches.
"Alabama, Auburn, UAB, Samford, Murray State, Kansas State, and Arkansas have all spoken with me about JP," Chris Monroe, Petty's AAU coach, told Future150.com.
It is easy to see why coaches are becoming interested in this special talent. Petty has the ability to score on all three levels, and his size is hard to match at this point.
Expect Petty to receive more interest from colleges as the high school season continues, as well as his first handful of scholarship offers.
