Inman, SC (Future150) -- 2019 SG Zach Baldinelli has enjoyed a productive freshman season at Boiling Springs high school in South Carolina. The Future150 Alumni put up solid numbers in his first year playing varsity basketball, and now he's looking forward to this summer and the glorious season of AAU basketball.
"It was awesome playing at Boiling Springs this season, we usually aren't known for basketball but we stepped up and got some big wins this year," Baldinelli said.
Adjusting to the level of varsity right after middle school is never an easy task. Last time when we talked to Baldinelli during eighth grade he was set on improving his body strength, because he knew he would need it this year.
"It was a big transition being we play in the toughest region in the state, and it was really the first time playing coming off of my knee injury," Baldinelli said. "I finished the season out with averages of 10.6 PPG, 4 RPG, and 3 APG."
Now that high school season has came to a close for not only Baldinelli, but many other players in the area, it is time for these guys to start getting prepared for the grind of summer time, which is AAU basketball season.
"This summer I'll be running with Upward Stars Elite 15u team. I've been lifting weights, working on my speed, and getting up around 500 shots daily to get prepared for the season."
Baldinelli has always had a great work ethic, expect him to have some big time performances for his team this summer. Some heavier college interest could be heading his way this summer as well as he's already seen light interest from the likes of Middle Tennessee, Oregon State, and Wofford.
Continue to follow along at Future150 as we track Zach's progress throughout this summer.
