Forth Worth, TX (Future150) -- 2019 F Le'Jon Doss of Nolan (TX) is a top 60 freshman in the country and could emerge into one of the better combo forwards in his class down the stretch.
The Future150 alum has a unique skill set at 6'5. Even though he isn't the tallest person on the court, he can bang down low with bigger opponents and is usually the best rebounder when on the floor. He has continued to add guard like skills to improve his versatility on the way to becoming a true combo forward.
"I feel like I've improved on my shooting, and playing on the wing," Doss said. "I have to get more confident with my ball handling around the perimeter as well."
This summer, Doss could garner more attention if he is able to be as comfortable on the wing as he is in the post when banging down low.
"I told my coach (who is also Doss's father) that I wanted to get more comfortable with playing on the wing this summer," Doss said. "I also need continue to work on my jump shot, so if I have a bigger player guarding me, I can use my guard skills to get a shot up on them."
It will certainly be interesting to see how Doss's playing style pans out over the next 3 years. Either way he certainly has a chance to be one of the top 2019 prospects in the state of Texas, and will only become more of a nightmare to guard if he can fully add some guard type skills to his game.
