Bayside, NY (Future150) -- The New York City Catholic league has been competitive from start to finish this season, with a number of top teams taking turns knocking each other off. As the conference has played out, Holy Cross has taken it's share of lumps, but the Crusaders have better days ahead of them thanks to a very promising freshman.
Hassan Diarra isn't the go-to player for the program just yet, but it seems as though it will be his role to lose next year. The younger brother of UConn commit Mamadou Diarra, Hassan is already proving that division one coaches should be keeping tabs on him as well.
Standing at 6-foot-1 with a 6-foot-6 wingspan, Diarra is a highly intriguing combo guard. He has good vision and is very unselfish. Armed with a nice looking mid-range jumper, Diarra can score from 16 feet and in.
Like a majority of freshmen, the recruiting process has yet to begin for Diarra. That being said, few players in the area have the upside that he does as well. It will be interesting to see how he develops over the next three and a half years, as that will ultimately dictate what level he can play at.
